Walt Stankus

Walt has been a resident of Lower Gwynedd for thirteen years, where he lives with his wife and their daughter, currently a student at Wissahickon High School. He has served locally as a volunteer coach for girls’ recreational basketball and softball teams.

 

Walt earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from Wesley College at Delaware State University. He has worked in the chemical industry for over 15 years, currently as an account manager for a regional chemical distributor, and previously for a large refinery. In these roles Walt has been responsible for managing sales goals, budgets, planning, and account management.

 

As a parent and committed resident within the Wissahickon school district, Walt appreciates the critical importance of strong board governance to ensure academic excellence and program diversity, all in a safe and respectful environment for teachers and students. As a School Board Director, Walt is committed to serving with energy, enthusiasm and in a spirit of collaboration. He believes strongly in fiscal responsibility, leadership transparency, and promoting the highest levels of academic achievement.

 

Asked why he wants this opportunity, he says, “I’m just a dad who really cares about our kids’ education”.
