School Board Candidate

John McDevitt

About John McDevitt

John moved into the Wissahickon School District 13 years ago. What attracted him most to the
neighborhood was the district's highly-ranked public schools. John now has a son in the third grade at Blue
Bell Elementary and wishes to volunteer his time and efforts to help the School Board.

As an educated and experienced financial professional, John could bring financial leadership to the board, ensuring that the district's tax dollars are well-managed and that any proposed tax increases are transparent and in the best interest of the community. Additionally, John expects to leverage his analytical background to review concerns over the districts aging infrastructure. This review would include an audit of the district budget as well as a comprehensive risk assessment of the infrastructure relative to comparable districts. Ultimately, John would like to provide the board with a conservative, alternative viewpoint on important issues that will broaden the board's overall perspective.

John is very involved in coaching kids in the community through the Whitpain Trojans Football and WRA Baseball and WRA Basketball.
